Julie Ann Aueron PT, DPT, Founder

Julie Ann is a board certified and licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Columbia University in New York City. Julie Ann specializes in sports medicine and orthopedics, but also has experience treating a wide range of neurological, vestibular, cardiac, and pediatric disorders, and she employs a multi-faceted and integrative approach every day in her private practice.

Originally from New Jersey, Julie Ann is a health and movement enthusiast. A former dancer and athlete, she has a first-hand understanding of what is physically, mentally, and emotionally required to achieve peak performance. Although Julie Ann specializes in sports medicine and orthopedics, she is keenly interested in treating the patient with a holistic approach and using an integrative healing process.

Julie Ann’s current patients include New York City’s finest runners, cyclists and performers, in addition to business professionals, parents, and anyone seeking to restore their body and mind to optimal health. She supports her patients in meeting their goals, so they can return to their daily lives with a deeper understanding of their movement capabilities and overall wellness.

  • Manual Therapy

    Skilled hand movements intended to produce any or all of the following effects: improve tissue extensibility; increase range of motion of the joint complex; mobilize or manipulate soft tissues and joints; induce relaxation; change muscle function; modulate pain; and reduce soft tissue swelling, inflammation or movement restriction.

  • FUNCTIONAL RELEASE TECHNIQUE

    FR® Release is an advanced, and comprehensive system of musculoskeletal assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation. FR® Release was created out of the most current scientific literature and represents a cohesive system of manual care using the most effective strategies currently available to assess, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal disorders, pain, and movement dysfunction.

  • Spinal and Peripheral Joint Manipulation 

    A highly effective intervention, often accompanied by an audible joint sound and pain relief. Benefits include improved range of motion, desensitization of nerves and/or tissue, restoration of blood flow, reduced muscle tension, and promotion endorphin release.

  • Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization 

    An effective method to identify and treat underlying soft tissue pathology playing the primary role in limiting mobility and function.

  • Fascial Movement Taping

    Following a sport-specific movement assessment is integrated to correct movement strategies, mobility and stability dysfunctions and improve athlete performance.

  • Neuromuscular Rehabilitation

    A technique which can assist in retraining nerve signals to improve motor function. This may be performed by the assistance of painless electric stimulation.
